WESTERN AUSTRALIA WEDDING, COUNTRY CHARM - THALIA & BJORN

They got married at Country Charm Weddings just outside Perth shyly hidden in the country. It was quiet and sunny, the kind of day that doesn’t ask for much. A few people cried, but no one made a big deal of it. There were eucalyptus trees, a long gravel road, and music playing from a small speaker. Some guests had never met before, and it didn’t really matter. Tahlia looked at Bjorn like she already knew what he was going to say. He looked at her like he was still catching up. It wasn’t a big wedding. It didn’t need to be. The day felt simple, honest, and exactly right.

WHEN THE LIGHT SLOWS DOWN

Shooting at Country Charms feels different. The light moves slowly through the eucalyptus trees, soft and broken in a way you can’t really plan for. Western Australian sunsets do their own thing, warm, calm, unforced. It’s less about chasing perfection and more about being there at the right moment, when the greens soften and everything settles into those warm, honest tones.

I think timing here is everything. During the day time the light can be quite intimidating and harsh but surprisingly with all the gum trees and eucalyptus it somehow seems to magically soften the light, even the harshest rays it manages to dampen. Then as we get closer to sunset, the shadows get longer, stretching out across the land til the sky glows pink and soft blue, the perfect time for a romantic couple shoot
