Broome does something strange to time. The heat slows everything down and somehow makes people more honest.
For three days, Krystal & Rhys let everyone settle into each other properly. Family, friends, beers in hand, conversations that stretched longer than expected. On the first evening we drove out to Gantheaume Point and watched the sun disappear into the ocean while everyone slowly forgot about schedules and phones and all the usual noise.
The wedding day at The Billi Resort was brutally hot. The kind of heat where shirts stick to your skin before midday. The boys escaped into the pool before getting ready, trying to cool themselves down before everything became real. Then the ceremony started and suddenly nobody cared about the temperature anymore. There were tears everywhere. The sort people try to hide at first, then eventually stop bothering to.
By sunset we made our way to Reddell Beach where the coastline turned deep red against the blue water. Later we ended up back at Gantheaume Point one final time, chasing the last light because nobody really wanted the day to end yet. Back at the reception, everyone waited quietly under soft lantern light while speeches began. One of those nights where you look around and realise people will probably talk about it for years.
The next morning was slower. Hanging around the pool with family and friends, jumping in the water, filming above and below the surface, letting the final hours drift by naturally. No rush to leave. No need to force anything. Just people wanting a little more time together before life started up again.
